you know you're not grown-up when....

the top ten signs i'm not grown-up

1) i have roommates. three of them. while that's significantly fewer than the number of people i lived with during freshman year of college, at least the bathroom was bigger then.
2) almost all my furniture is from ikea or has been scavenged from the street.
3) i tried very hard not to run away when i spotted someone from my high school (pvp alum are annoyingly everywhere) this morning on the way to work.
4) i splashed around in puddles during a thunderstorm today instead of going to opera in the park.
5) the idea of caring for someone other than myself is bewildering. and it kinda freaks me out. not to mention i'm having a hard enough time trying to keep my plant alive.
6) my room in my parents' house is almost exactly how i left it in high school. i should clear it out (as my mom has been begging me to do) so that it can be turned into a guest bedroom. instead it's like a really big time capsule.
7) i've never owned anything larger than a twin bed. 'nuff said.
8) i don't have a pda or even a planner for that matter. i do have a pretty wall calendar though.
9) i think a bottle of wine that costs over $10 is fancy.
10) i'm still in school.

really though, i'm fine with not being grown-up. because the quote of the day is:
"Those people aren't 'growing up too fast.' They're getting old too soon."

You know you are grown up when...
1) You only have one roommate (your husband) and you can't wait to have a bunch of little roommates.
2)You wish you could afford better furniture than the ikea stuff you bought in college and still use.
3)You bolt like lightening when you see your old high school classmates because it's been 10 years and you feel old.
4)You use to go to Operas and Museums but all you want to do now is make snow angels all day long.
5)You still can't keep a plant alive but you love taking care of the one you love.
6)Your room in your parents house is so unrecognizable that you can't imagine having grown up in it.
7)Everything you own feels about as small as a twin bed but comes with a mortgage size payment.
8)You can't function without your phone/PDA/calendar all in one because you are now a slave to it.
9)You think about every dollar you spend on anything that is not related to the car or mortgage payment as money you cannot afford to spend.
10)You wish you were still in school!

Yes, definitely growing old too soon, but growing wiser and grateful with the lot that God has given me.
