a matter of public taste

the washington post conducted an experiment that was completely fascinating. as much as i want to think that the people in dc are phillistines, i'm not surprised by the outcome. it would probably be the same anywhere (in this country at least).

dunno what i would have done...probably walked by, maybe tossed in a buck (i have a weakness for violinists in the subway station since i used to play).

i like the quote from billy collins, but also find it a little depressing. i hate the thought of life squeezing the poetry and music out of us.
i mean, who wants to be a dried-up old adult? but somehow it happens.
