after a snowy Easter and a wet nor'easter (haha),
the sun finally came out!
it feels like summer...
did we skip spring?
at williams college this weekend,
a capella groups were practicing on chapin hall's steps,
and students were everywhere in the bright sunshine,
carrying lacrosse sticks, running, flirting, studying on the grass.
as we walked around, my cousin stopping to chat with everyone who passed by,
i noticed how laptops, bags and belongings were left strewn about everywhere,
dorm doors remained unlocked, and old steepled churches were used for event space.
so this is what it's like to go to college in a little town on the east coast.
and then i thought of
those students in another town
who won't be going to class,
who are lying instead in the dark.
