i was a total space cadet at work today.
it didn't help that my boss forwarded me this email in the morning:
"I'm placing you in charge of this project. Please reach out to S if you need assistance."
then i scrolled down to read the huge amount of text below. i must have tried to skim it at least three times before giving up. i couldn't make any sense out of the gibberish...something about marketing strategies and getting a list of companies together. what? since i've barely been at the job for 3 months, i couldn't help but immediately panic. all i could guess was that maybe i was supposed to sit in on a conference call and report back to my boss, then go from there. i had no idea what to do, except (very sensibly) pass on the work to someone else. I forwarded it to my coworker, who burst out laughing when she read it.
Apparently, my boss was just joking. I didn't see the humor in it.
