landing

i feel like i've led three lives in the past six months:

life before layoff
life after layoff
life now

i started a new job. it feels weird being an employed, functioning member of society again. at my outplacement center, they called this "landing." it's the perfect word. it's like the pieces of my life that were scattered are starting to come together. it feels right.
