neighbor: good, i'm starting to get used to working.

neighbor: two months.
me: you like it?
neighbor: yeah.
me: oh that's good....blahblahblah.
neighbor: i like your shoes.
me: thanks. (big smile. pause). i didn't think guys noticed shoes.
neighbor: in new york they do.
note to self: must go shopping this weekend.
