back at home, the singleton ran into someone she hadn't seen in a long time...unfortunately there was no easy exit to the conversation until the singleton, suddenly feeling very ill and tired indeed, went home to nurse her cold in the peace and quiet of solitude.
smug married: say hi, can you say hi? (talking to her daugther, who was twined around her leg...but the little girl and the singleton chose to ignore each other).
singleton: so how are your sisters?
smug married: fine, A's married, her daughter is seven; T's engaged, and L just got engaged!
singleton: wow...i can't believe everyone's getting married....
smug married: i'll have to tell J i saw you, i just had lunch with her the other day!
singleton: J?
smug married: she married S, you remember S?
singleton: mmm, i'm sure it'll all come back to me. by the way, how's her sister?
smug married: (sadly) not married.
singleton: oh.....so what's everyone up to?
smug married: oh you know, busy planning weddings!
