The First TIme I Saw You (Den Forsta Gang Jag Sag Dig)

The first time I saw you, it was a summer day,
in the morning when the sun was shining brightly,
and all the flowers the meadow, many hundreds of species,
stood bowing together in pairs.

And the wind's breeze was gentle, and down at the seashore,
a wave slipped lovingly towards the shell in the sand.
The first time I saw you it was a summer day,
the first time that I took your hand.

The first time I saw you, the summer sky was luminous,
as dazzling as the swan in its splendor.
Then, from the green edge of the forest,
was heard the rejoicing of bird song.

Then, a song sounded from the sky, beautiful as none other;
it was the little grey lark, so hard to discover
The first time I saw you, the summer sky was luminous,
as radiant and beautiful as nevermore.
